Dr. Sunny Kim (Sung Il Kim) is a highly accomplished academic leader and practitioner with extensive expertise in Oriental Medicine, nutrition, and education. With a career spanning over three decades, Dr. Kim holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Oriental Medicine from Liaoning University of TCM and a Master of Arts in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Emperor’s College of Oriental Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Kim has a Bachelor of Science in Food Technology and a teaching credential from Seoul Women’s University.

Currently serving as the Dean of Academics at Golden State University since 2005, Dr. Kim has previously held leadership positions such as President of Holy Oriental Medicine & Acupuncture Clinic and Academic Dean at multiple prestigious institutions. With teaching and lecturing experience at esteemed organizations like the University of California and Dongguk Royal University, Dr. Kim has contributed to advancing the field of Oriental Medicine and nutrition globally.

As a prolific researcher and author, Dr. Kim has published numerous papers on topics such as osteoporosis, hormonal nutrition, and the intersection of Oriental Medicine with modern healthcare. Their international lecture portfolio spans countries such as China, Korea, Peru, and Uganda, where they have addressed critical health issues and promoted the integration of acupuncture and nutritional therapy.

Dr. Kim is a California-licensed acupuncturist and holds a teaching credential in bilingual education. They have been a prominent advocate for legislative reforms to incorporate Oriental Medicine into broader healthcare systems and Medicare. Dr. Kim is also the founder of multiple organizations, including Holy International Medical Education Mission and the American Christian Acupuncture Association.
